Sed Atlas

This atlas aims to document and showcase a comprehensive collection of sedimentary and deformation structures observed in glacigenic and sediment gravity flow deposits. It serves as a valuable resource for geoscientists, students, and educators to enhance their understanding of sedimentary processes. By bridging gaps left by previous geological references, this atlas offers detailed visual and descriptive insights into often-overlooked structures such as glacigenic deposits and sediment gravity flow features. Through the combination of field photographs, laboratory analyses, and thorough descriptions, I hope this work will serve as both a learning tool and reference for geoscientists worldwide.

Introduction to Sedimentary Structures: Sedimentary structures are the fingerprints of Earth’s dynamic processes, recording the history of environments shaped by glaciers, sediment gravity flows, and pervious climates. This atlas is a culmination of my passion for sedimentology, inspired by field excursions to Argentina, local studies in Wisconsin, and documentation of sedimentary structures at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
